The Pill Trust
The Pill Trust is a registered charity rooted in the Christian faith and based in Pillgwenlly Newport
Pillgwenlly
Pill is a vibrant diverse community that has a very significant history in the life of the City of Newport because of the docks and commerce. It is now home to around 40 different cultures which brings a lot of beauty, energy and creativity. It is an inner-city district with a lot of challenges around deprivation. Pill has the third highest rate of child poverty in Wales.
The Charity
The Trustees of the Charity are committed to developing existing and new partnerships, supporting local young families, addressing poverty in all its forms, seeking justice for those who are neglected and unheard.
We run term time community groups for young families and holiday provision headed up by our Community Outreach Worker based in the buildings and grounds of St Stephen’s Church. We also host one off community events throughout the year.

Partnerships
St Stephens Church
We are growing our involvement in the community and are planning new ventures all the time! We have a number of partnerships locally and some across the UK but our two key partnerships are.
St Stephen’s Church Council have made their resources, buildings and grounds available to the charity and therefore to the community as a whole. The Church building and the hall have both had worked done on them to make them suitable for a whole range of activities that will benefit everyone, and they are used regularly throughout the week. The Church congregation have committed themselves to supporting and volunteering for any clubs, groups or activities.
Pill Unity
Pill Unity is the community group that is working with the Invest Local programme.
Pill has been given £1 million to spend over 10 years. This community group has financially supported our Community Outreach Worker and has been a place where Pill Trust has found advice and support with a number of individuals and organisations that provide our community with excellent resources and projects.
